Privacy & your data
Ridefolk beta uses ChatGPT sign-in. The service receives a site-specific account identifier and a verified email for authentication and administrator access. Your email is not displayed to other riders.
We store your public rider name, bio, experience, acceptance of community rules, rides you post, joining requests and introductions, saved rides, blocks and reports in the app’s shared database. Trip details and host profile names can be viewed publicly. Hosts can see profiles and introductions for requests on their own rides.
Do not include phone numbers, home addresses, identity documents, or other sensitive information in public trip descriptions. Third-party fonts and illustrative images are loaded from Google Fonts and Unsplash, which receive network request information.
Rider data is used to run the community, show bookings, enforce capacity and review reports. Activity updates appear inside the app; we do not send email or push notifications yet. No payment information or continuous location data is collected.
You can edit your profile and delete your stored Ridefolk data in Account → Delete my data. Deletion also removes your hosted rides and associated requests. Ordinary records remain until deletion. Hosting providers may retain operational logs or backups under their own retention policies.
